Episode 6 Chapter 11/12

Viola Come Il Mare starts with Viola having a regular check-up and doctor telling her that the illness is still and has not progressed. Viola no longer wants to hear emotions of others and requests medication from the doctor. Francesco comes to Viola’s for coffee when she was about to take the medicine. She hides it from Francesco like she hides her illness. Parisi meets Claudia outside new office and tells her that he is working on some investigation with chief police office Demir. Claudia is not happy about this. Claudia is angry by Domenico’s personal remarks and decides to draw line behind their relationship and look for love using app.
Viola talks to Tamara and tells her about what happened with the priest. Tamara gives her card of her father who is lawyer because she might need to force co-operation legally. The day before a fisherman got murdered in near-by island and Claudia asks Viola to investigate.
Turi and Francesco are at the crime scene. The Fisherman was shot in femur and blead to death. Francesco talks to victim’s wife and her. The victim had recent argument with a man of Moroccan
origin. Parisi calls Francesco and the two meet to talk about the investigation of the mole at police station. Later when Demir returns Turi tells Demir that the man who argued with the victim was Yusef Aid
who lives in Italy for over 10 years and has daughter. The man has recently lost job and his work permit has hence run out. Demir calls the man for interrogation to station. Viola is waiting for Demir outside his office and at the same time is contacting Tamara’s father for help. Demir sees that Mr Graciosi, is calling Viola and asks her some questions, but Viola lies to him. Claudia is at the news office and is setting herself up a profile on dating site. Tamara helps her. Viola learns that the man who police suspect killed the victim was seen a lot on specific beach. Tamara and Viola go there and learn that the man was sleeping on the beach even though he has house. While there they find some women clothing. Viola goes to prison where the man is held to talk to him. He tells her that he has not kill the man. At the police station, Turi gives Demir ballistic test results of Yusef’s gun and the did not match with the bullet that killed the victim.
Viola goes to beach and finds Yusef there who is going to sea and is very desperate. She stops him. He tells her about his daughter who he argued recently over her decision to leave school and who has run away and has not returned. He has been looking for her ever since. He said that he has found her top at the beach. The man did not want to report her missing to police because he was afraid that he would be deported before he could find her.
At the police station there are some news. The victim and his wife had lot of financial problems. The boat the man owned however sold lot of fish in recent weeks, but the size of sales did not match the boat fishing capability. At that point Viola coms to the station to tell Francesco about Yusef’s missing daughter Dalila. She gives Francesco photograph. Viola goes back to the church and sees the priest playing with children in the courtyard of the church. She watches him un-noticed. At that point Francesco’s mother calls and wants to talk to Francesco and asks if he is with her, but he is not. Viola realizes that Francesco does not answer his mother’s calls.

Later in the evening Santo and Francesco are having dinner. Francesco tells him about Yusef and his daughter Dalila who got missing not far from the place where Farah’s body was discovered. Francesco thinks that the body found was not that of Farah but Dalila and as the DNA test done was not conclusive, he wants to get DNA test repeated, and he wants Santo to approve it. Santo agrees. When Santo leaves, he bumps into Viola in the hallway and has a private conversation with her telling her that if she ever wants to talk to someone about things or wants advice, she can come to him.
Viola and Francesco talk on the terrace. She tells him about the bad meeting with priest and he in return about the repeat of DNA tests on the body police identified as Farah. Viola also tells Francesco that his mother is after him Next day police bring a man onto a police station who participated in illegal non-domestic fish selling but the man has clear alibi. At the news office Tamara is suspicious of why Alex has not been for last few days in the office and discovers that he is on a break in London Later in the day Viola goes to meet Yusef on the beach to tell him that she found him a job and that
they expect him to turn up to sign contract. She gives him details. In the evening Claudia dresses up and goes to the bar to meet an app date. When she arrives also
Carmelo from the office is there and it turns out they were chatting together all this time. They decide not to leave and have a friend game of billiards. At the police station Francesco talks to his victim’s wife again. During the conversation added
information becomes known which makes Francesco suspect her brother being involved and potential suspect, he brings the man for interrogation who eventually confesses that it was an accident during and argument between him and his sister’s husband. Santo came to Francesco to tell him that the DNA re-test results are over and that the body which they thought was Farah is actually 100% match to Dalila but Francesco does not understand how come that she had bracelet of Farah’s sister on her wrist. Santo does not know, but Francesco suspects that someone put the bracelet to pass the body as Farah’s. Francesco first time tells Santo about his suspicion of mole at the police station. Santo tells him to be careful and give him regular progress update on what he found out about the mole investigation. When Santo leaves Viola enters, and Francesco tells her the results of the test. Francesco is not happy because even though he learnt that Farah is not dead, he does not know where she is and the only thing, he wanted to do was to save her. Viola leaves to go to tell Yusef the sad news. When Viola leaves, Parisi calls Francesco and asks him to meet up at the police station. Parisi tells Francesco that the mole is not at the news office but at the procurator’s office which totally shocks Francesco. Francesco tells Parisi that he can talk to Santo in order to find out more, but Parisi tells him absolutely no because the information will get out and with that truth will disappear. Francesco agrees not to tell Santo and Parisi tells him he will get more information in order to have more evidence.
Viola thinks about things and decides to use legal force for the priest to communicate with her, but just before she calls the lawyer, she receives phone call from the priest who wants to talk to her.
They talk and he tells her that he is not her father, but it is his brother who has left him when he was her age. He tells her that however he was not ill nor anyone in his family is. He said that her father left after he killed a man who he held accountable for a death of their parents. He wanted to revenge them. He tells her that he absolutely believes that her father is dead which upsets Viola. That night Viola locks herself in her apartment and has emotional breakdown. Francesco is waiting for her on the terrace, but she does not come out and does not answer his calling. He has no idea that she is in such a state and that for the first time she takes the medication prescribed to her by the doctor to supress sinestesia.

Episode 6 Chapter 12 of Viola Come Il Mare starts with Viola having a run alongside beach happy and calm after taking the medication to suppress her emotions. Francesco is reviewing human trafficking investigation documents and the fact that he cannot talk to Santo bowers him. Francesco meets Viola on the terrace and asks her why she did not meet him previous night. She makes excuses and lies as to a reason. Francesco tells her about the Parisi investigation and asks he never
to talk about it. He tells her that the only information he has is that the person works at prosecutor’s office and has a nick name Chameleon. He tells her about Parisi and that Santo does not know about anything. He shows her name of four judges involved in the cases and asks her if she could use sinestesia to identify if they are involved. Viola is surprised and agrees to do what Francesco asks, but she decides not to use sinestesia because she is on medication and that stops her ability to see the colours.
Viola is speaking to Tamara in the new office. When Claudia comes into the office Viola asks for few hours of free time but does not want Tamara to go with her. When Viola leaves, Parisi comes to the office to talk to Claudia and ask her an opinion about the secret investigation of inspector Demir. Later in the day Francesco tells Turi that the mole is in the prosecutor’s office and not at the police station, but that he cannot talk to Santo about this. While in the conversation Santo comes in to get
to know any update on the mole at the police station investigation. Francesco lies to Santo and does not reveal anything.
Viola goes to talk to the four judges and pretends reasons to talk to them as journalist for an article, but she is not using sinestesia. Unknown to her one of the judges, following her attempt to talk to him, calls someone to inform them because they are involved in the case. When Viola arrives home, Francesco calls and Viola tells him that it does not look like any of the judges have anything to hide. She promised that she did not tell anything to anyone. When Viola opens her laptop to check news
website, the article pops up written by Parisi about the human trafficking and about the mole at the prosecutor’s office and all the hell breaks loose. Francesco sees the article and calls Parisi, but he is not accessible. All the news is on TV.
Santo comes to talk to Francesco who tells him that he could not tell the information to him because he promised Parisi not to, but that Parisi broke their promise. Santo confronts Francesco over the investigation and why he used Parisi and not Viola. Francesco tells him that Viola is too important for him and that he wanted her to be safe and not involved. Santo is clear that Francesco has deep feelings for Viola.
In the evening on terrace, Francesco is on the terrace having a drink when Viola arrives, they talk about the article and Francesco asks her again about her talk with the judges and Viola admits that
she has not used sinestesia on them. When Francesco, who is surprised, asks why, she says that she does not want to feel other people’s emotions anymore. She tells Francesco about her father and the priest. He is sorry but tells her that she can live without him like she did till now, but she says not that she cannot, but she fails to explain anything further because he would not understand. Francesco tells her that he has helped her with the search for her father and then now he needs her help, but Viola refuses. Francesco gets upset and calls Viola very selfish. They have confrontation and Francesco brutally tells her that he does not know why she is still here as she cannot find her father and does not want to be journalist either, as she just told him, and leaves her there. Viola gets
also upset shuts herself in her apartment and searches for a plane ticket back to Paris. In the morning Francesco comes to her apartment through terrace door to bring her cup she left on terrace and sees Viola packing her suitcase. She tells him she is leaving to Paris and asks him what he
is going to do about the investigation, and he tells he that as always, he will find who is making him a fool and looks intently at Viola. He tells her that he will never leave the investigation till he finds the truth and after that he leaves. At the news office is chaos, postal police have suspended the news website pending defamation.
Viola hands Claudia resignation who is sorry but accepts. Viola tells the news to Tamara as well who is upset because she really likes Viola and because she is her best friend. They agree to have a ride
on Vespa and drink after before she leaves for airport, but Viola tells her that first she needs to do something else.
In meantime other things are set in motion. Viola goes to speak to Santo who is at home. He knows about Viola’s departure to Paris from Francesco. He lets her in for coffee and locks door behind her. Viola is worried about Francesco and the mole investigation. At the police station Turi and Francesco are reviewing timelines between the investigation of Navomar and other aspects of the case and the judge’s whereabouts. One by one they eliminate all
and suddenly it daunts onto Francesco that the mole is Santo. Viola is at Santo’s and when she looks at a photograph of his son Nicolas and she also sees a picture of Chameleon she suddenly realises that the mole is Santo who is however ready and with chloroform makes Viola unconscious.
Tamara is waiting Viola, but she has not come. She is calling Viola, but she is not picking up. Tamara gets worried but must help the team to handle the office crisis. She again tries to call her, but still without result and this time she decides to go to see Francesco. At the police station Turi and Francesco are reviewing a key report from the time when the body of Farah was found. The report is signed by Santo who knew everything about his relationship with Farah, last years raid, all the progress in all the investigations, everything. While at the conversation Tamara barges in telling Francesco that Viola is missing. Francesco wants to understand more from
Tamara because she seems to talk about things in code, he does not understand but Tamara knows that she cannot be the one telling him about Viola’s illness. Francesco promises her that he will find her even if it will mean searching from house to house.
Santo calls and Francesco picks up. Santo tells him that Viola is with him. Viola is tied up in old dark garage. When the door opens, Santo comes in. He does not want to hurt her and simply speaks to her. Francesco thinks of Santo as his father and Santo tells her that he takes Francesco as his son. He tried all to keep him away from finding the truth. He knew the gangs involved new Francesco was close to truth and he was afraid that they would kill him and that is how he decided to use Farah. He
helped her to escape, and she helped him to persuade Francesco that she is dead by giving Santo the bracelet. He knows that Francesco will soon find out that it is him who is the mole, but Farah was not his trump card but that the trump card he has is Viola because she is the only one who could persuade him to let him go. Viola does not believe that Francesco will do anything for her, she believes he is only interested in stopping the human traffickers. After this Santo says Good Bye and leaves and tells her to hope that Francesco will come to look for her.
Francesco arrives at Santo’s place. He is already waiting for him. He tells him to calm down and sit down. Santo tells him the story how he got involved into the corruption and how it was linked to his financial difficulties over the divorce. That he was extorted and that he did not want to also loose him, his second son. Francesco tells him that he is not his son and asks him what he wants. Santo offers him a deal to give him 24h so he can escape and then he will let him know where Viola is so he can save her. He also tells him that there is another deal being conducted soon and that traffickers involved know who Viola is and that she works with him and that if they found her there, they will kill her. He puts the emotional choice between Viola versus hundreds of people into Francesco’s
hands. Francesco lets him leave but Santo gets shot by the gang of traffickers in the building’s courtyard. Santo before calling unconscious tells Francesco where Viola is. Francesco goes and saves Viola.
In the emotional moment he makes confession to Viola about how she changed his life. When they are trying to leave the old building, they are confronted by the gang and Francesco ends up wrestling one of them. Thankfully at that moment police arrives, and no shooting takes place. The gang gets arrested. The whole operation was planned. Santo wants to talk to Francesco, but he does not want to talk to him. Viola comes back to work in the news office. Tamara wants to talk to Viola and is
upset by what has happened. In the evening Tamara arrives at Alex’s place and explains to him that she likes him and kisses him.
At the end Francesco and Turi are leaving the office and Francesco asks Turi to call him by his first name.
Viola decides to stay, and Francesco is happy with a film of different scenes he experienced with Viola going in front of his eyes. On terrace Viola tells Francesco truth that she never saw his colours and that she lied. They almost kiss, but they get interrupted by Turi who is calling Francesco. Viola prepared a surprised dinner for herself and Francesco and casually invites him. Francesco comes to
kitchen, and he realises that she cooked for him and what that means. He gets scared, makes excuses, and leaves Viola standing there in dining room alone. Francesco fears his emotions and scars from the past.
At the end of the episode and with that Season 1, Francesco’s mother calls to again try to get hold of her son who has still not contacted her. She tells her to tell Francesco that she is returning to Palermo and that she needs to speak to him about his father and she holds picture of a man who the priest gave to Viola as picture of her father.
