Episode 5 Chapter 9/10

Viola Come Il Mare starts with Francesco late at night reviewing information about Farah. He is really hurt and feels great guilt. Viola also in the morning wakes up without Raniero next to her side which will remind her about their great fight the previous night. When she
wakes up, she remembers the call from the unknown man about her father.
When she walks onto the terrace, she sees Demir doing some morning CrossFit. Viola tells Francesco that if he wants to talk about Farah he is there but he declines and simply leaves for work without even looking at her. Claudia calls to ask Viola to go to the afternoon party organized by a cycle club which won an important competition She goes with Tamara and while there tells her about the call
she had about her father. Suddenly a woman stumbles and drops all her drinks on the floor. Viola tunes into the woman and recognizes feelings of terror. The woman is a cyclist who won the recent competition. Viola follows the woman who is resting outside the venue but while talking the woman collapses on the floor and has a fit. Her coach tries to help her and then an ambulance transfers her into a hospital. The ambulance crew tells Demir that it seems that the woman poisoned.
The woman is in hospital unconscious. Demir learns from Turi who the woman is and that she is great cycling hopeful.
Tamara and Viola talk, and she tells Demir about the emotions she detected in the woman. Demir shows signs that he is very tired, sad, and upset. Viola needs Francesco’s help finding the address from which the call to her was made from. She knows it is not the right moment, because of Farah, but before she manages to ask anything of Demir, he leaves to deal with work. At the end Tamara helps her to find that information using app. When Viola returns to office Claudia tells her that Anna’s coach is also her father. Police has suspicions about some of Anna’s team mates and invites them for interviews to gain some information. One of the teammates tells police about Anna’s behaviour and police suspects that his
is results of sports rivalry. Turi having observed Demir during interrogation is concerned about him and how he is feeling.
Viola goes to hospital to see Anna and meets her father there. Anna is still unconscious. Viola talks to her father about the teammates and any problems she might have had with them, but her father diverts the conversation onto problems with her boyfriend. At the same time Demir who already knows about the boyfriend thanks to the CCTV footage from the venue, calls the man for questioning. The man denies that he had argument with Anna, but he lies as CCTV shows a scene of their argument. The man explains that Anna was worried that she was pregnant, but it was false alarm. He explains some further information and that they have split up
and blames Anna’s father. In hospital, Anna’s father who is talking to Viola tells her about Anna’s boyfriend and that he
suspects it was a revenge for the recent break up. Demir is very tired at work and decides to leave home, there he is very unsettled. Everything he hears in his ears is Farah speaking and asking him to trust her and then Santo telling him that police believe it was Farah’s body washed out on the seashore. Demir is upset and feels incredible guilt, but his thoughts get interrupted by Viola knocking at the terrace door who came to share the information she learnt in hospital. During the conversation Viola shared that her and Raniero are on break and that they argued but she does not explain why.

Next day Viola and Tamara go to bar from which the phone call to Viola, about her father was made, but they do not find anything so Tamara tells Viola that she will need Demir. While talking, Raniero calls but Viola does not pick up and instead calls him back. Raniero wants to talk at her place as soon as possible.
Viola goes home and Raniero soon arrives there too. They talk about Viola’s lies. Viola thinks that this is the end, but the events take funny turn which end up Raniero asking Viola to move in with him on farm and Viola agrees. Next comes call from Claudia who learn that Anna had cardiac arrest in hospital. Viola goes there only to witness a bad argument between Anna’s father and her ex- boyfriend who are both there. Francesco is also there in a bad mood. Things escalate between the two man and Francesco puts himself between he two and at the end uses more than required physical force on one of them and gets pulled of from the man by Turi. Demir is upset looking at Viola and leaves the hospital. Demir goes to talk to Santo who has already learnt what has happened
and he tells him talk calm down, but Francesco tells him he cannot because of Farah and asks him about the results of DNA which came out unconclusive again.
In the evening when Viola arrives home, she finds Francesco on terrace drinking beer. He is visibly upset, and she comes to talk to him. They have private and personal conversation concerning Farah. Francesco tells her that he has made decision to take few days off and leave, that really surprises
Viola. The Anna case will be transferred to someone else to deal with. Francesco tells her that he needs to rest, but Viola accuses him of running away from his feeling of pain, guilt, hurt but reminds him that him running away will never give Farah her life back. The conversation gets interrupted by Raniero calling Viola. Viola stops Demir before he leaves and asks him for help to trace the caller who called her about her
father the other day, but Demir who is upset refuses and tells her that as he said he is taking time off. Demir leaves to go inside. He is so upset by the news Viola told him earlier of Raniero and her planning to live together at the far. With this on his mind as well he cannot sleep whole night.
In the morning Turi is on his own in the office. Demir is at home. Turi feels worried for Francesco as his friend. Suddenly a police officer arrives with toxicology results of Anna for Francesco, but because he is not there Turi takes them. The results state that Anna tested positive for doping which
means she was not poisoned. Turi calls Francesco who does not pick up, so he turns up at his door. Turi shares results with Francesco. Francesco advises Turi to get a search warrant to the home of Anna and her father and interrogate the him as he was also her coach. Turi wants Francesco to go back, but Demir tells him that he really needs a rest. Viola is trying to organize boxes for packing, but Tamara detects that she does not really want to move in with Raniero. Claudia interrupts the conversation telling Viola that she should be in police station trying to find out latest news about the crime case. Back at the police station Turi is trying to play Francesco and interrogate Anna’s father. In the middle of the interrogation Francesco arrives back in the office and takes over to Turi’s relief. Anna’s father confesses to giving the pills to his daughter without her knowledge. Some things however do not
stack up, so Demir asks for further checks to be performed. Francesco also asks Turi to bring trafficking files so they can look at them together. Viola arrives at the police station for information only to find Demir outside. She asks about latest news. Francesco tells her the details of what was so far known to police. Viola goes to review Anna’s training sessions. From the looks on her face Viola suspects that it was Anna who did the doping herself and not her father. Viola goes to talk to Anna’s father. After she leaves Tamara goes to put files away and secretly sees Alex rehearsing to himself telling her that he really likes her and that he is in love with her. Tamara is shocked. Viola finds Anna’s father on the training track ad speaks to him. Here her suspicion is confirmed.
In other part of the town Alex arrives at Tamara’s place to tell her that he loves her, but when she opens the door, she is in a night gown and behind her is a man in boxers. Alex is shocked, does not say anything much and leaves. Tamara has set this up to push Alex away. Francesco and Turi are going through Navomar files but everything seem very proper and nothing is
out of place. When looking through last year’s files Demir finds something unusual which shows that there must be some form of a leak in police as the company was clearly notified of a check that will take place on their documentation. Demir suspects a mole in the police force. Anna in hospital tells something to Viola about love which also makes Viola to think about her own situation.
When Raniero comes next day to Viola’s place to pick up some of the stuff for moving, he finds out she has not done any packing and that Viola will not move with him. Viola tells him that she does not want to live with him and the two break up.
In mean time Francesco has done some investigation into the man who called Viola from Remo bar and managed to get an address to where to man ordered a taxi to. They go there on bike. When they arrive, they realise that the address is an address of a church.

Episode 5 Chapter 10 of Viola Come Il Mare starts with Viola researching in her computer, on the terrace, the church. She is looking at the priests of the church, but the information is old. Francesco comes to terrace. Viola tells him that it is not clear if her father is priest. Demir makes some sarcastic remarks and tries to a bit flirt with her. Viola tells him that she does not want to be with anyone, but she knows that she wants to be with Demir. Viola who is a bit sad leaves the terrace when Demir’s mother is trying to call him. He however does not answer. Later in the morning crime takes place and a man is killed. Back in the office Tamara and Viola talk a little about what she found out about her father and Tamara also tells her that she found out that Alex wanted to tell her that he loves her so she set things up, so she was caught by him with another guy because Tamara is apparently not interested in Alex. Caludia comes to talk to the girls to tell them that a man who led a successful tourist digital project has been murdered. This conversation in interrupted by Domenico Parisi who arrived from London to receive an award from Tacconi foundation.
At the crime scene, in the victim’s apartment is already Demir and Turi who are investigating the crime scene. Turi on quiet asks Francesco about the mole in police force. Francesco tells him not to talk to anyone at all about it but that he started some investigations. The body was discovered by his house helper. The older lady is sitting outside being interviewed by Viola. The woman tells them that Taconi foundation was about to give him an award tomorrow. It is the same foundation which will give award to Parisi. In that precise moment Francesco arrives and interrupts the conversation and asks how is Parisi connected to the case and he learns about the Taconi foundation award. This information really shocks him. Viola asks for police statement, but Francesco does not have anything to say yet and leaves looking extremely nervous and agitated.
Viola noticed that this has something to do with him hearing about Taconni foundation. Viola calls Parisi who tells her that he met the victim on press conference at the Taconni villa yesterday. He saw him arguing with a woman, but he did not see her face as she was turned by back to him and they were standing far from him. Viola goes to talk to someone at Villa Taconni. When Tamara and Viola arrive at the villa, they speak to the gardener. When they ask him to speak to the head of the house, he tells them that is not possible as she is right now talking to her son and points at the terrace where Viola can see a woman speaking to Francesco. Viola at that moment learns that Francesco is the only son of the signora Taconni. Demir talks to his mother who is not happy that she could not contact him in the morning. Francesco
lies that he was at work during that time. Francesco tries to talk to her about the crime, but his mother wants to talk to her son as they have not seen each other for moths, but Francesco insists. When the woman suddenly turns, she spots Tamara and Viola and asks if they are there with him, which Francesco denies. He tells her that they are journalist but that they can be let in and that they can be trusted. Francesco’s mother is amused. Viola and Tamara come to talk to signora Taconni.
When Francesco asks his mother about the victim, she tells them that she saw him arguing with a man and that he was telling him to keep all the money but that he will end up bad, but Viola says that Parisi said it was a woman. The man he had an argument with was not on the list of invited
guests, but the victim insisted he was let in. His name was Fausto Russo. Following this information Francesco wants to leave but his mother stops him and tells him she wants to see him in the evening, but Francesco tells her that it is not possible because he has an important meeting with a woman friend. Viola likes Francesco’s mother. When Tamara and Viola arrive at the news office they talk about Viola’s father. Tamara tells her that she has a friend connected to the church and that there are two priests and one verger, but that one of the priests and the verger are younger than Viola so they are ruled out which only leave the second priest. Tamara sends Viola the photo of the priest. Viola goes to talk to Claudia to tell her all
the news on the crime case. Demir brings in for interrogation the man argued with who confesses that he went to see the man in
the morning but that he was not at home. He tells the police the history between them and that he was also involved in the development of the app but that he has not killed him. When the man was leaving in a haste, he dropped medications on the floor which was picked up by Viola. Francesco rides to seaside and meets Domenico Parisi. Francesco needs a particularly good journalist who knows how to do his job. He tells him about the possible mole in police in respect of the human trafficking investigation. He wants him on the case because he knows the port from his previous investigations and because he knows how to do an extremely sensitive investigation. Viola goes to talk to the co-developer of the app who teaches in hospital and learns the man is seriously sick. Francesco and Viola talk on in the evening on the terrace. Francesco tells Viola that the app business could not have been so successful as the man’s bank accounts are empty. Suddenly Francesco’s
mother arrives, and she meets Viola again. Francesco’s mother believes that the two have relationship and Francesco is playing along and quietly asks Viola to do him a favour to do the same and have dinner with him and his mother, so she does not suspect he lied to get rid of her. All three had dinner and the women get along very well and joke at Francesco’s expanse, but Francesco does not appreciate a trip to his past and tell his mother to stop and that Viola knows him better than even she does. The evening ends with tension between Francesco and his mother later Francesco
explains Viola why. Next day Viola goes to talk to the priest in church, but he is not there. Viola bumps into a woman who does volunteer work at church and who tells her some information about him. Francesco calls Viola to work to tell her that all the money from the app business has disappeared. Francesco asks Viola to find out more about the woman. Viola manages to confirm the argument and that he gave the woman a bag, but the only information concerning identity of the woman known is that she was incredibly beautiful and look around 30 years old. Francesco says that the only way to find out who the woman was is for them to go out to lunch with his mother and find the names of all the women invited to the press conference.
Viola gets ready and dresses up beautifully for the dinner and makes herself up. The dinner goes very well till at the end when his mother makes a sarcastic remark about his job which upsets him. He answers rudely to her and asks for the list of the women present at the press conference. The list is handed to him by her assistant, but she tells Francesco to also put her name on the list because surely, she also must be the suspect. This latest remark destroys the end of the dinner. Demir is upset and is leaving the villa, but Viola tries to stop him to give his mother another chance,
but he refuses. He tells her that just because she can see emotions of people does not mean she knows people’s lives and past. Turi calls and Demir needs to leave to police station but because also him and Viola argued Viola said she will take taxi and go to the office. When Viola returns to news office she vents about Francesco. Viola is looking for Claudia who is outside. According to Tamara Claudia went for a lunch with Domenico Parisi fiancée and returned upset. Claudia tells Viola that she learnt that the woman is pregnant. The two women go for a walk. Viola tells Claudia about her illness and about her only chance for cure is to find something about
her father and how the illness develops. She tells her that the only thing she found out was that her father is a priest.
Viola is looking for the core information about the recent crime and it leads her to the reviews and finds some strange reviews on the app saying it is dangerous.
Demir also conducts the investigation and found out that one woman who used to work for the app owner as tourist guide accused the man of raping her. Francesco tells this information to Santo during their catch up at the station. Before Santo leaves for the evening Francesco stops him and
thanks him for everything, he has done for him in his life. Turi interrupts the conversation with some more information about the woman who accused the victim of rape. When the three talk, Viola rings with some more information and soon after she arrives at the station. Here with help of Turi they find the woman’s address. When the arrive she is at home, but when she finds it is police she tries to run away from the back door. All three chase after her until they finally find her. When the woman
finally reveals her identity hidden thanks to coat hood it shocks everyone that it is signora’s Taconni PA.
When Francesco’s mother hears she barges into the police station and demands to know what has happened. Francesco’s mother is a lawyer and wants to take the woman’s case on. The woman tells the truth about the past and that one of the users of the app raped her during the private tour. She reported the crime but because the app did not have private ID tracking the man could not be tracked and found. She admitted that she murdered the man.
Following a conversation with Viola, Francesco next day tries to go to see his mother only to learn that she already left. Before Signora Tocanni flies away from Sicily, Viola manages to catch her on the airport. When she talks to her, she recognizes the emotions of concern the woman carries. Viola is asking her to not go and take this opportunity to talk to Francesco as she might not have another
one. She tells Viola that she knows that Francesco thinks she is terrible mother, and she accepts that he is truly angry with her and her ex-husband, but it is better than if he knew the truth that his
father is someone else. She never told him but should have told him years ago. After this the woman leaves Palermo. Viola goes from the airport to the church to meet the priest who could be her father. When she enters, she finds him sitting in the row of benches alone. When she comes closer and tries to talk to him, he turns and recognizes who she is and is very horrible to her. He shows to Viola emotions of disgust. Viola is incredibly hurt.
